After conducting its successful Toy Biz Innovation Challenge, the The Toy Association of India has launched a new initiative to transform submitted designs into profitable and desirable products. This program, titled "Toy Biz Launchpad: From Idea to Market," will serve as a powerful incubation and acceleration platform for participants, providing them with the resources, mentorship, and business support needed to refine their designs and prepare them for a successful market entry.
Framework for Success
The "Toy Biz Launchpad" is built on three core phases to ensure a holistic approach to product development.
Phase 1: Product & Design Refinement
The goal of this phase is to perfect the toy's design, functionality, and user experience. Experts from The Toy Association of India will conduct a design audit to identify areas for improvement. Participants will also get a stipend to create advanced, functional prototypes and be connected with potential suppliers for safe, cost-effective materials. Finally, small-scale user testing will be conducted with target audiences (children, parents) to gather crucial feedback on playability and durability.
Phase 2: Business & Commercialization Readiness
This phase focuses on building a robust business plan and preparing for mass production. Each participant will be assigned a dedicated mentor with experience in the toy industry. They will work together to determine a profitable pricing strategy, develop a compelling brand identity and packaging design, and create a professional pitch deck to attract potential investors or manufacturing partners.
Phase 3: Market Launch & Partnership (Ongoing)
The final phase is all about securing manufacturing, distribution, and a successful market entry. The Toy Association of India will leverage its extensive network to connect participants with reliable manufacturers and host a "Partnership Forum" where participants can pitch their products to investors, distributors, and retail partners. Initial marketing and PR support will also be provided to generate buzz around the new products and help them find their audience.
